My Screen Has Rotated To Horizontal Instead Of Vertical by matt on August 10, 2006

Q: My Screen is horizontal not vertical! How do I fix this?

A: Most video cards that support the rotating of the screen have a shortcut, which can be pressed by accident. This does not happen as often as one would expect but the key sequence is Ctrl + Alt + [arrow key]. Where [arrow key] is either the up, down, left, or right arrow key. Each one does something a little different. The Ctrl + Alt + Up Arrow should get you back in the right direction.

Good luck!

Brilliant, thankyou very very much. My “lovely” cat walked over my laptop keys and reversed the screen. Spent all morning trying to fix it. Positive thinking is that I have just learnt how to rotate my screen!!!!!!!!hum
thank you again

Many thanks for that tip..I too had a ‘cat’ problem, mine lay on my open laptop whilst I was out of the room and rotated the screen..I was panicking until I found this post…thanks, and like Laura, on a positive note I’ve learned something new!..:)

Thanks so much! I don’t have a cat, but a darling 3 year old who likes to play spongebob on my computer! Thanks so much- we’re both happy again!
