How come I am unable to open my pictures after backing up my files using winzip and running uniblue registry booster?

by on February 8, 2009

Q: I was downloading files and images into winzip12. Everything went into Microsoft Office Picture. I have a Dell computer with home Vista on it. About 80% of my files are in Microsoft Office Picture and none of the pictures can be opened. When I try all I get is a icon of Microsoft when I open each program. I cannot restore, my games, internet explorer and yahoo messenger is also caught up in it. I had just downloaded and ran Uniblue Reistry Booster 2 before downloading into winzip. First time I had this problem.

  1.

Before I can help you, I need to make sure that I understand your problem.

You used Uniblue RegistryBooster 2 to do some maintenance on your computer. Then you installed WinZip 12. You then attempted to create backups of your files and programs by “zipping” them. After that, you reinstalled Windows Vista, or tried to move your files and programs to a new computer. Now, when you try to “unzip” your files and programs, 80% of them open in Microsoft Office Picture.

Is this correct? I look forward to your response.

PS: There is some speculation on the internet that Uniblue RegistryBooster 2 if fraudulent software. I’ll investigate further and let you know what I discover.
