Which drives should I defrag and what permissions do I need to do it?

by on March 28, 2009

Q: I am using Windows 2000 Pro on an Omnibook 6100 and was wanting to defrag my laptop. When I accessed defrag , I only see volume C: to defrag. Is this all that I am able to defrag? Someone told me I have to have administrators access. What does that entail?

  1.

That’s probably your only harddrive. Select it and hit the defrag button. It’s probably going to run for a good number of hours so consider letting it run overnight.
