Q: I’m looking at my web traffic and see something called “Spider Hits”. When I googled it I didn’t see much about its description. Looking for someone to tell me what it is.

  1.

A spider is a program, usually related to search engines, that pareses your site. The purpose of this is to gather information from your site to figure out what the different pages are about.

When you see “spider” or “robot” in terms of web traffic or analytics, it just means that a non human is looking at your site.
