Is it possible to separate an mp3 into multiple tracks?
by Guest Geek on April 19, 2009Q: I am currently trying to edit an mp3 music file on WavePad Sound editor. I need to know if there is any way possible to separate two sounds from the one track. By this I mean, if the track is made up of guitar and piano sounds but I only want the guitar sound how can I do this and on what software?

In a word no. MP3’s blend the channels. What you would need is the master of the recording where each input is in a separate channel assuming it was recorded that way.
