How come the image on my TV comes on for a split second then goes away?
by Guest Geek on May 31, 2009Q: I have a JVC 32inch LCD TV, model TL-32EX38 genessa, when I turn it on, the image comes on for a split second and then the TV goes black. The sound stays on. I can change channels but to no avail. Is this work fixing or do I trash it?

Can you provide some more background? Did the TV do this right out of the box or did the problem only recently start?
What types of input have you tried? Antenna, CableTV, Tivo, DVD, VCR, etc.

I had a problem like this with my Vizio TV and tech support actually had me unplug the TV from the wall for 5 minutes and then plug it back in. Oddly enough it worked. I have no idea if it would do any good for you but it might be worth a shot.

I tried to unplug it for a long time or leave it on for long time, I even opened it to see if there was something loose.. nothing.

I had it for a while but it just started doing that, as far as I can tell. I tried antenna, VHS and DVD player.. different inputs, same result… Thanx
