How can I connect my Windows 2000 computer to my wireless router?
by Guest Geek on June 26, 2009Q: I have a wireless router on one of my computers. I want to put my other computer into a different room and I don’t want to use cables. I have heard of something called a USB dongle which one should I use? I have an older computer with windows 2000.

You have basically two options for getting the computer onto a wireless connection.
1) You can buy a wireless card like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166020 , this PCI card would need to be installed inside the computer.
2) Or if you don’t want to open up the computer, you can get a wireless card that hooks in by USB connection: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166023
