Q: My computer has had a blue screen 4 times with a physical memory dump. Now when I turn on the computer it says missing operating system error. How do I fix this and what does this mean?

The first thing you will want to do is make sure you do not have any CD’s, DVD’s, or floppy disks in your computer. If you do have a disk in your computer then it might be trying to boot off that instead of your harddrive.

Additionally, the hard drive may be bad or the files that tell the operating system how to work may be corrupted. Assuming you’re dealing with Windows, you can try to boot in safe mode or off the installation CD.
