Can I use parts from my laptop in my desktop?

Q: Can laptop parts be used as desktop parts?

I have a laptop that just broke but it was a power thing. I want to know if i could take a lot of parts and use them in this old desktop that I have.

    Maybe, but it will probably be more trouble than it’s worth.

    You might be able to get the hard drive to work, but you’d need to buy a mounting kit like the Startech BRACKET25 2.5″ to 3.5″ Hard Drive Adapter kit to get it to even work.

    Laptop drives tend to be slow and small, so that money spent on an adapter kit would probably be better off put toward a new hard drive for the desktop.
