http://www.yahoo.com is a major internet search engine that has been around since the mid 1990’s. Among the many internet services they provide free e-mail service to anyone that signs up for it. So that @yahoo.com e-mail address could be a friend or just junk mail.

In general, it’s safe read the text content of an e-mail without fear of it infecting your computer with a virus. However, you should never download, open or run an e-mail attachment that you don’t trust.

Dont know if you may be refering to the same email I got today saying that my account was going to be closed. It asked for my email address and password. According to Yahoo, they do not and will not ever ask for your password or any other private information. If you got or ever get this kind of email, it is not from Yahoo. It is a phishing scheme trying to get your info. What you need to do is forward it, without opening any attachments, to http://www.phishing@cc.yahoo-inc.com. Hope that helps!
