How come I get a JavaScript error when I try to open FireFox and am ultimately unable to start FireFox because of it?

Q: I can’t start Mozilla FireFox. Each time I try I keep getting the following message: “Script: file:///C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:2585”

  1.

Try downloading and installing the latest version.

If that doesn’t help, try running Firefox in safe mode (there should already be an shortcut for this in the ‘All Programs’ list, otherwise it’s “C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe” -safe-mode)

Try disabling all your firefox extensions and see if one of those is the culprit.
