How come I get a message saying insufficient storage available to create either the shadow copy storage file or other shadow copy data?
by Guest Geek on September 20, 2009Q: After having my computer about a year, just recently I cannot create a restore point. I get a message saying insufficient storage available to create either the shadow copy storage file or other shadow copy data (0×8004231F). I have 414 GB free of 453GB & 72.6 MB free of 12.1GB

The problem is going to be with the drive that only has 72MB free. As a rule you should make sure you have at least 10% of you disk space free so on that drive you should have at least 1.2GB free.
You will want to clear off some progams files or maybe even get a new larger hard drive to replace that one.

Thank you. I will first try to remove some program files I’m not using to see if that solves the problem.
