How come my mouse in Windows with boot camp does not work?

by on September 27, 2009

Q: I have a 24” iMac core 2 duo 2.16 ghz. I just installed OS X 10.6 and jumped head in to boot camp. I followed all the directions and installed Windows XP SP2. After I finished the install, I loaded the drivers from the OS X CD and rebooted, but now windows freezes on the desktop. I can’t move my mouse or use the keyboard and I end up restarting the computer. How can I fix this, as I really want run some PC games on my Mac.

I have not run into this problem but if your computer is new or if you purchased AppleCare then you can get support from Apple to see if they might know why it is happening.

Did you have a problem with the mouse and keyboard before installing the drivers?

The computer is about 2 years old, and the mouse and keyboard where working fine before the drivers where installed. However i couldn’t adjust the screen resolution or anything.

is reinstalling windows an option at all and then just install the video driver?
