I'd suggest picked up a CD/DVD drive lens cleaner from your local electronics store. It looks like a DVD, there is just a small brush on the bottom of the disk. Other things to try: Make sure the data and power cables that connect to the dvd drive aren't lose Make sure the DVDs you're trying to use aren't scratched up If none of this works the drive could just be dead.
