How come my DVD remote does not work correctly with my cable box?

Q: I have an RCA DVD/VCR combo and Comcast cable. The remote from the DVD player now controls the live cable picture when the power is on (freezes picture) can this be corrected?

    You’ll need to dig up the manual for the RCA DVD/VCR (or check RCA’s website: http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/select.aspx?u=manual

    It should show you how to associate the remotes with different devices. If the Comcast cablebox came with a universal remote, you might want to consider just using that one for both devices (check with comcast for details).
