Q: I am trying to resize a flash video from OneTrueMedia.com to show it on a web page but nothing I change in the following embed code does anything.

<embed src=”http://www.onetruemedia.com/share_view_player?p=2468f3400a0d8b133e9d22″ quality=”high” scale=”noscale” width=”600″ height=”526″ wmode=”transparent” name=”FLVPlayer” salign=”LT” flashvars=”&p=2468f3400a0d8b133e9d22&skin_id=601&host=http://www.onetruemedia.com” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” pluginspage=”http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer”></embed>

A: Normally you would need to change the width, height, and scale paramemters in the embed tag but in this case that does not work at all.  To resize a flash video from OneTrueMedia.com you have to modify the “flashvars” string. The specific part of the flashvars string is “skin_id=601”. You just need to change the 601 to the width you want. The height is automatically set because the video is forced to be the right scale.

This means you need to change the 601 value to a number smaller than 601 if you want the video to be smaller and a number larger than 601 if you want it to be larger. You can keep changing this number until you get the flash video resized to fit on the page and looking the way you want it.
