How come I cannot get Windows XP to boot?
by KarenH on November 26, 2009Q: I am running Windows XP. My computer will not boot Windows in any mode. I have the disc. When I try to boot my computer, it will go to the 1st Windows XP screen, and then it won’t go any further. What do I need to do to resolve this issue?

Just to make sure you did the following when you mention “in any mode”:
After pressing F8 at Windows startup, did you try:
1) Last Known Good Configuration
and if that didn’t work
2) Safe Mode
If you had tried those, what kind of errors did you get?
If these don’t work at all, is there data on the drive you would need to recover if you needed to wipe the drive?

Thank you everyone, the issue is no longer a problem, a personal friend came and resolved it. I don’t have a clue what he did. If I have the opportunity to ask him, I will post the answer as to what he did. thanks again
