    Thanks a lot !
Just one more question. My laptop has a vga output and i have a crt tv with s video output. There are cables that you can buy online which are vga to s-video. Just them won’t work without a converter box right ?

First off, if your going to be doing anything other than watching video or photos, the computer screen is going to look terrible on the TV.

If VGA is the only output option on your laptop you’ll one of these two things:

    (from monoprice’s website)
    IMPORTANT, Please READ! Before Buying.

This item is a VGA VIDEO Card to S. Video or Composite TV Adapter Cable.

Use it to connect the video card on your computer to a TV input. Your video card MUST be able to support s-Video or Composite out through it’s VGA port. This is known as a TV out function. If you don’t know if your video card can do this, then call the card manufacturer and ask them “Does my video card support S-Video or Composite Video out through its VGA port?” If it does, then buy this adapter. If not, then use Product # 4724

Thanks!!! appreciate it! As I got from my notebook specs it doesn’t support tv out though
