Q: I have a new MacBook Pro laptop and time capsule for back up. Can I link in with my desktop PC to create a network?

The Apple Time Capsule is a wireless router with a hard drive in it for storing files or backing up using the time machine software. This means you already have a wireless and wired network because of this. You can easily connect a PC running Windows, OS X, and linux to the wireless network that the Time Capsule creates.

Is there something specific you are trying to do or are you just trying to make sure a computer you are looking at will work with the network?

There is no time machine software for Windows. You should be able to access the time capsule from your Windows machine to access files on the shared drives but you wont be able to use apples time machine software to back it up like you do the MacBook.
