What is the best way to protect myself against forgetting my administrator account password?

by on January 27, 2010

Q: I always use the administrator account and just now thought about what a pain it would be if, for some reason, I forgot my password, or someone were to change it. I know back in the day you could create a password reset floppy disk. Is there any modern solution to do this?

Password reset disks are still around: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Create-a-password-reset-disk

You can also still write down your password and keep it elsewhere in a locked, safe place.
