How come my DVD drive shows 0 bytes used and 0 bytes free?

by on February 23, 2010

Q: My DVD drive shows a complete blue circle and in 2 little boxes the blue is for used space and pink is free space. So this circle is completely blue. It has 0 bytes beside used space and 0 bytes beside free space and capacity 0 bytes. I don’t know much about computers so I was wanting to know if anything is wrong. Am I suppose to have more space? I’m using Windows XP.

Is there a disk in the drive?

No there is no disk in the drive. My computer is running fine but I didn’t know if anything is wrong with my dvd drive. Thanks Mark

All is well, it is showing zero because the drive is empty. Put a disk in and you’ll see the numbers you’re curious about.
