Is there anyway to connect to a proxy server to do private messages via IM?

Q: Can you log onto chat programs such as pal talk and inspeak with a proxy server? I know people can get your IP via a PM. Is there any way to block that?

    I am not aware of any IM client that supports connecting to a proxy to make a direct connection or private message connection.
