Thanks. I read those threads already. Trying to see if you can retrieve them once you empty the “deleted emails” folder. Because what I don’t understand is that I see everywhere that AOL only keeps them for 24 hrs, but they stay in your folder forever until you “permanently delete” them. So I wonder if that 24 window means emails that are in fact permanently deleted? And if so, what is the process to recover them?

Based on my reading of the above threads, these e-mails have been permanently deleted. If you still wish to attempt to recover then you’ll need to contact AOL directly to see if it is at all possible.
