How can I remove a trojan that safety.live.com says I have?
by eric_calif on March 15, 2010Q: I am running Windows XP and my Gateway laptop computer is really, really slow! I ran a McAfee scan and it came up clean. So next I ran a safety.live.com scan and it told me I had a trojan and didn’t tell me how to get rid of it! Does anyone have any suggestions? Also what is the best free antivirus software?

Try Microsoft Security Essentials: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials
That should take care of your trojan issue, and give you good all around protection. Make sure you uninstall any anti-virus software you already have on your computer. Having more than one anti-virus program on the computer will slow things down a lot for you.
