What is the most reasonably priced laptop that will let me play Second Life and do homework?

Q: I am a self supported college student who needs a new laptop. I am on “Second Life” for multiple hours a day so I need something that can handle that. I’m just not sure what is the best bang for my buck, especially when it comes to refurbished vs. new. This ASUS X83Vm-X1 seemed great for the money, but it’s refurbished…. thoughts?

Or there’s a few HP computers I could buy new, but they don’t have NVIDIA graphics.

I need dual core or better processor above 2.0 GHz, preferably NVIDIA graphics, 3 GB or above memory, something that can keep relatively cool, preferably full HD display (I spoiled myself with 1920×1200 display the first time around lol, it’s hard to downgrade). Battery life, operating system, and weight aren’t very important factors for me.

The biggest thing here is budget. I would like to buy something under $600.

I bought an ASUS G60JX-RBBX05 at Best Buy for $780… had it for a day and returned it because the resolution drove me nuts lol. They tacked on a restocking fee of $112 which was quite the punch to the gut. Now I kind of wish I had kept the thing because I’m finding that lower resolutions are really the only real option for me with my budget.
