How come I do not get the install option when putting in a Windows XP install disk?
by ph4tb0y1 on August 17, 2010Q: How do I install Windows XP over a none genuine Windows 7 Ultimate? The Windows 7 ultimate OS that was installed took up 65gigs of my 70 gig hard drive. Sounds impossible I know but I have nothing else installed on the computer. I just don’t get it! The computer is older Lenovo PC. I put the XP disk in and the option to install is not highlighted and will not let me choose install option.

You should put the install disk in, Reboot your computer, and boot do the CD/DVD drive option. Make sure that before doing this that there isn’t any data on your hard drive that you need to save. The Windows XP install will wipe your hard drive and you will be starting new.

I’m guessing you have a USB Keyboard.
Plug in an old PS2 Keyboard or use a USB to PS2 adapter so that your keyboard is plugged in to the PS2 keyboard plug on the back of the computer.
Your keyboard should now work.
