  1.

What programs do you have running?
How much RAM is in your computer?

Check your current virtual memory settings:
    1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
    2. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
    3. In the Performance pane, click Settings.
    4. In the Performance Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
    5. Click Change in Virtual Memory box

    Let me know if
    1. “Automatically Manage…” is checked at the top of the window
    2. If your set to Custom, System Managed or no paging file
    3. The current values for “Total Paging Size for all drives”.

Great, that should be a good setting. Are you getting error messages talking about running out of virtual memory?

If so you probably have a problem with a specific program, see this guide for how to track down the troublemaker: http://bit.ly/au2WXE
