How can I get my photos off my camera if the USB port on the camera is broken?

by on August 31, 2010

Q: My camera’s USB port is broken; so the cord can no longer fit into the camera. Is there a way to get the photos from the digital camera onto my computer? Or is all lost?

It is a Kodak Easyshare C160 9MP Digital Camera.

Yes, all the photos on the camera are stored on an SD Memory card that can easily be removed or swapped out.

If you have a computer handy that has an SD Card reader already built in you can simply plug the SD Card into that. Otherwise you can just buy an SD Card reader, like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820223088

Hi, there was no SD card inserted when I took the pictures. It is taken with the hard drive from the camera. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks.

Insert an SD Card, and copy the photos from the internal memory to the SD Card.

See page 18 “Copying pictures/videos” of the manual for instructions
