How do I disable the information balloon that pops up from Spybot S&D

by on September 12, 2010

Q: Could anyone advise me on how to disable the information balloon that pops up from Spybot S&D via my task bar? I am currently using Microsoft Security Essentials and I also scan with Anti Malewarebytes weekly, but I was advised to use Spybot S&D as well. Everytime I log on or access a programme I get a ‘scanning of files in progress’ message that is becoming really annoying. If I right click on the icon it shows me ‘show information balloon’ with a tick beside it but I cant seem to find an option to disable it.

I’d be grateful for any advice on this , and also on general security.

In terms of PC Performance, I’d consider disabling Spybot’s automated scanning and just using Security Essentials for day-to-day active scanning and use the other tools for manual scans as needed.
