One Response to “Will a DSL filter help my DSL Internet speed?”
Picked as best answer
Nope, DSL filters will not make your internet any faster. They are only used to prevent echo sounds on a telephone if you’re using one on the same line.
Here are some tips:
1. Talk with your Internet Service Provider to see if you are getting the speed you are paying for. Speed is controlled by your ISP, so if you are already getting all the speed you are paying for, you’ll need to pay more money for more speed. You can also try testing your connection here: http://www.speedtest.net
2. Connect your DSL modem to your computer with an Ethernet cable instead of a USB cable
3. Try some new telephone wire where possible. Old telephone wiring can impact performance.
4. Look at other options. FIOS and Cable Internet (if available) may provide faster plans.
