Why does it take forever for me to save a file in Adobe Photo Deluxe?

by on December 6, 2010

Q: I use adobe photo deluxe home edition 3 and really love it. Lately when I go to save a picture I have worked on or export a format it takes forever for it to save. Can you give any suggestions for speeding up the save process?

How much memory do you have installed in your computer at the moment?

    If your not sure:
    1 click the Start button
2 right click on Computer(“My Computer” Windows XP)
    3 select properties
4 the screen that pops up should tell you how much memory your computer is running.

You may want to upgrade your memory as Adobe is notorious for using a lot of memory. If you need help upgrading your ram please let me know.

Another reason this may be slow is due to the size of the file you are working on. The larger it is the longer it usually takes to process.

    Hello –

I use Adobe quite a bit and can probably help out. 🙂

Are you using a MAC or PC? (yes, it does respond differently)

    What version are you running?

Two things you can try off the top…

Save the photo as a .jpg and while choosing the jpg options, use a lower number for the “Image Options”. You have have a rather high number as your default creating a VERY large photo.

Hope that helps! If not, let me know what you’re trying to do and I’ll see if I can help.
