  1.

Help me out with some details:

    – Make and Model of the PC
    – Version of Windows
    – Make & Model of the Monitor / TV
    – Are any other connection options available to you?

Have you tried updating your video card drivers and/or adjusting your screen resolution?

I have an HP Pavilion dv5000 laptop
Connecting to a Vizio 26 HDTV
I have a 6 foot DVR cable. When I connect it directly to the TV it”s fine. It’s when I added a 6 foot DYNEX VGA Video extension the the picture reduced in size and dispalys to the far left of the TV. Home this helps. I do need a longer cable than 6 Ft which Best buy didn’t have.

    Picked as best answer

I suggest return those cables to best buy, and pick up the appropriate cable from either amazon.com or monoprice.com Odds are the idea cable for you will only run you about $5, instead of the $30+ Best Buy probably charged you.

I can help suggest the best cables to buy, but I need to make sure I understand your connection options on the TV and on the laptop.

The three options that might exist on the TV and the Laptop that we care about are:

    – VGA : http://bit.ly/6pzRzq
    – DVI : http://bit.ly/4cV9jK
    – HDMI : http://bit.ly/aoSOsI

Let me know all the options available on each device.

Thanks! I returned the $21.00 best buy cable and ordered a 10′ VGA cable on line for $6.00
Should work fine. Again thanks for your help,
