Can I get a power cord for my Dell laptop at a computer store or do I have to get it from Dell?

Q: I have a Dell laptop and it is not charging. I think the power cord is bad. Do I have to buy one from Dell or can I get one at a computer store?

Dell might not honor your warranty if you still have one, though if you did, you’d want to just talk to Dell in the first place.

That said, you can buy an AC Adapter for your laptop not from Dell, however the warranty and return policy on that adapter might not be all that great.

Looks like there are a lot on amazon, just search for something noted as being compatible with your laptop.

Check out the reviews on anything you might buy, looks like a lot of these have some pretty mixed reviews.
