Is there a way to bypass the wifi switch on my HP Pavilion tx1000 laptop?

by on December 16, 2010

Q: I have an HP Pavilion tx1000 laptop with Vista OS. The switch for the wifi antenna is broken and I cannot access my wireless network.

My question is: Is there a way to bypass the switch using the OS or some software or do I need to replace the switch?

Did you actually break the switch somehow (dropped laptop, etc.) or has your wireless switch just stopped responding and you’re unable to turn the wireless on anymore?

If you actually broke the switch by damaging your computer, you’re going to need to replace the switch/ get the pc repaired.

If it just stopped working, you’re going to need to contact HP. At lot of the HP laptops had a serious problem with the internal wifi breaking, so even if you’re out of your warranty period you’ll want to give them a call.
