Is it possible to connect a 5 year old HP desktop running Windows XP to a router and use it in the next room?

Q: We have a 5 year old HP desktop running XP. Is it possible to connect this somehow to a router and use it in the next room?

    You have a few different options.

    – Get a Wireless Card for the HP Desktop and connect to the router via wireless (assuming the router supports wireless connections.

    – Run an Ethernet cable from the HP desktop to the router

    – Use Powerline networking between the router and the computer.

    I’m assuming their isn’t an easy way to run an Ethernet cable to the next room, so your next best option is probably the wireless card assuming the router has built in wireless.
