How come no icons appear when I connect an external hard drive to my Mac?

Q: I have bought a seagate external hard drive to back up some files from my mac. When I plug it in no icon appears? Where can I locate it?

    What model External Drive is it? You may want to make sure that it is compatible with a mac.

    If you go to the seagate support page and find your model it will walk you through various steps for your Hard Drive.
