Q: How can I recover my Internet history on my PC after it has been deleted?
The first thing you should try doing to restore your deleted history is to use the System Restore feature. Since your deleted history is stored in your restore points you can select the last restore point from before the history was deleted. Be careful here though since it is possible you will lose data you don’t want to lose so make sure to backup.
The second thing you can try is a program called Recuva. The program helps you recover deleted files and since most browsers store their history in a file you should be able to find your deleted history. The actual location of the history file for IE7 in Windows Vista should be C:\users\you_username\appdata\local\microsoft\windows\history. You might need to unhide the directory, ie show hidden files and directories, but that should help you get the software looking in the right place.
There are also other programs you can use as well and they are outlined by our friends over at lifehacker.
