How do I connect my computer to my router wirelessly?

by on January 31, 2011

Q: I have had my computer connected directly to the router but now I’d like to use it wirelessly. Had a computer guy here and I think he disconnected it or deleted it. How do I find it or get it back?

Do you have a Laptop or Desktop computer? Have you ever used a wireless connection from this computer before, or always an Ethernet cable?

I’d also suggest contacting the computer guy, since if he screwed it up and you’ve been paying him money, he should clean up after himself :)

Have a desktop and used the wireless connection before and had issues with it dropping connection so starting using cable. Should call him but just thought I’d fix it myself.

Does your computer have wireless on it? Do you have a wireless router? If so what kind of router (Model & Brand)?

You will need to make sure your wireless is enabled on your router and once that is confirmed using the wireless tool on your PC you will search and locate your wireless network and then connect to the wireless network.

If you find your wireless network and it has a password enter the password, or if you do not know your password you may need to log into the router to change it.

Let me know if you need more help.

    Thank you.
