How do I transfer all my information from my Windows computer to my new Mac?

Q: I currently own a Dell running Windows XP and have bought a an Apple running Mac OS X. How do I transfer music, photos, files, internet explorer favorites, and Outlook express contacts to the Mac?

    Normally the apple store will be happy to help you with this but you can do it on your own as well. The best way to do it is to get all the files you want and put them in a single folder. You can have folders within that folder but the key is to put them all in the same spot. Then from there you can either burn them to a CD/DVD, put them on an external hard drive, or you can setup a network share.

    The network share is going to be the most difficult and is the way they would do it at the apple store.
