How can I share my printer connected to a computer running Windows Vista?

Q: I have my printer connected to vista. I have a pc with windows 7 that I would like to share my printer with. How do I do this?

    1. Right click on the printer and go to printer properties.
    2. Click on the sharing Tab at the top.
    3. Share the printer with whatever name that you’d like. This should be something along the lines of the model of the printer.
    4. On your windows 7 computer go to Network > windows network and browse for the windows Vista computer. If the computer cannot be seen then you will have to go to Start > Run and type “\\”computername” (ex. \\winvista01).
    a. If you do not know the name of the vista computer you can go to a command prompt and type “hostname” no quotes.
    5. Once you type the computer name in the run box you will see the shared devices from the windows vista computer. your printer should be listed in there.
    6. Right click on the shared printer and click “connect” or “install” what ever option it gives you.
