When looking for a new computer the thing to think about is what you will be using it for. If you plan on using it for gaming and media you will want to consider higher specs.

-OS(Operating System): WIndows 7 and Mac are the probably 2 of the most popular systems.

-Processor is the brains of the computer. Most PCs offer quad core processors now.

-Memory determines how much your computer can handle at once. Today about 4GB of ram is normal.

-Hard Drive is where all of your storage goes.

-Video Card allows you to view higher definition graphics on your screen.

-Then you can opt for a CD, a DVD, or a BluRay player for media support. Some you can write your own discs to as well.

Those are the the base features of a PC that you will want to look at. The higher the specs the “better” the PC,
also the more expensive it will be.
