Is it possible to connect a slingbox at work and use it on my internet connectable TV at home?

by on March 1, 2011

Q: Is it possible to set up a slingbox at work, which has high speed internet and comcast, and sling it to my internet connectible TV?
Will I have to connect my laptop to my TV, to get the picture on my TV?
Can I connect it to multiple TVs?
Do I have to have an ethernet connection at home or will wireless work?

First off, unless your the owner of the business, I’d suggest getting permission. This kind of thing would get you fired in most places since you’d be using company bandwidth and other resources for personal use.

You’ll also need to get whoever runs your network to agree to adjust the firewall to allow connections, and need to have a fast enough internet connection at home and at the office.

If you don’t want to hook up your laptop, you’ll need to buy additional hardware from slingbox.

I suggest you review the product information on http://www.slingbox.com/
