How come when I go to a Norton website it redirects me to a page that does not exist?
by vickie jones on May 25, 2011Q: I am trying to install norton on my laptop. this is a “new” laptop (reconditioned). To install this subscription I am supposed to go to www.norton.com/yournetbook but when I type that address in my browser this comes up:
http://www.symantec.com/redirects/norton/norton_com/yournetbook/
and no webpage comes up
That URL redirects me to here: http://us.norton.com/theme.jsp?themeid=netbooks_2011&header=0&depthpath=0
See if that address works correctly for you

What browser are you trying to use? I tried it in both Chrome and Internet explorer and was lead to a download site.
Do you have another computer you can try browsing to the site with and download it and copy to a disc or flash drive?
Also are you able to get to other websites without any problems?
The only other suggestion I can think of is to try using Internet Explorer in safe mode, this will disable any add ons. to do this:
1. Click Start Menu.
2. Click run.
3. In Run box that opens type iexplore.exe /safe
4. paste in link and see if site opens.
If you need further support please let me know.
