How come I keep getting a patch message when I try to download the newest version of Microsoft Silverlight?

by on May 27, 2011

Q: I had downloaded Microsoft Silverlight a few years ago and am now taking online course at ITT and need to download the newest version but keep getting a “Patch” message. How do I delete the old version?

I do have one other question – but it is silly. I have a game cd and want to download it onto my laptop, but I keep getting that I have to purchase the games. How can I use the cd that I have without purchasing again?

  1.

Go into the Windows Control Panel, and then to either the “Programs” (Vista or Win 7) section or “Add/Remove Programs” if you’re running Windows XP. You should see silverlight listed in the list of installed programs and you can then uninstall the old version.

As for your question on the game cd, is this a situation where you own the game, but lost a CD-Key or something like that? What’s the game title?
