How come my battery level does not increase when my laptop is plugged in and turned on?

Q: dell inspiron 1525 – when hooking up adapter to laptop – message comes up about a ‘source’ connection and only comes on when the pc is first turned on. The pc stays charged at the same level – does not increase. Is this a battery issue or charger issue.

  1.

    Turn off your laptop
    Remove the battery
plug in the AC adapter to the laptop and to a power outlet
    Turn on the computer

If the computer turns on and runs correctly, the problem is most likely with the battery or the components inside the PC that handle battery charging. I’d suggest trying a different battery and if that doesn’t work, contact Dell.

If the computer doesn’t turn on, your issue is probably with the adapter. Try replacing that, if that doesn’t work, contact Dell.
