What is the difference between a MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air?

Q: I am looking for a new or used laptop I want an apple. What is the difference between the macbook, mac pro and mac air? I want a laptop so i can play stupid games surf the web do some picture editing. I only have about $
850.00 to spend i have looked at alot I just dont know much about there different uses.

    Note that if you go to the used market, and purchase an earlier generation of Apple laptop, the system specs will be different and probably lower.

    In a nutshell, the air is designed as a ultra portable lightweight laptop. Your paying extra money for a laptop that is very lightweight and small.

    The pro line is designed for high performance.

    The macbook sits in the middle of those two. It sounds like based on your interests you’d be best off with a standard macbook. If there is an Apple store in your area I’d suggest you stop in for a visit to play around with the different models.

    If you want to go with a Mac, but don’t really need the portability of a laptop you can also consider a Mac Mini http://www.apple.com/macmini/ current models start at $700.
