First, see if you can clear up some space:

To clear up some space on the harddrive, review your list of installed programs and uninstall anything you’re not using, in addition CCleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner is a nice tool for cleaning up junk on the harddrive. After that, try out http://windirstat.info/ to visualize all the stuff on your harddrive and see if there are any other files you can delete.

To get more harddrive space you’ll need to replace the harddrive in the notebook. You can replace it with any 2.5″ (NOT 3.5″) SATA Harddrive. After replacing the harddrive you have two options:

    1. Reinstall Windows and copy important files over
    2. Using a different computer, hook up both the new harddrive and the hold harddrive and use a tool like http://www.todo-backup.com/ to clone the drive data over.

Regardless of what you do, make sure you make backups of all your important files.
