How come I was able to get my Cannon BJ10sx printer working once with a parallel to USB connector but it wont work anymore?

by on July 4, 2011

Q: I have an old Cannon BJ10sx printer that would be convienient to leave in my holiday home. This printer has a parallel connection and I have purchased a USB to parallel conecting cable. I did get this to work but since the first try I have been unable to get the printer to work. The self test sequence works OK. I have uninstalled the printer, reinstalled all to no effect.
Any suggestions?

USB to Parallel adapters can be a little tricky sometimes. Unfortunately if you’re performing the exact same steps as the first time and not getting any results it’s likely problem with either the printer or the adapter.

Given the ultra low cost of printers your minimal headache route would just be to replace the printer with the cheapest thing you can find.
