Q: What USB bootable version of Linux can i use to access my hard drive to copy all my files on to an external hard drive?
My version of vista was deleted due to water damage yet everything else on my laptop seems to still works, (this is according to a laptop repair place) i just have no operating system on there.
Hopefully that makes some sense…..i don’t really know what I’m talking about, cheers.

  1.

Ubuntu works well for this. I just used it bootable off a USB stick last night to do a file recovery. See their download page for instructions. The standard install disk is bootable without any special tweaks or changes.
