Is it possible to connect my turntable to my computer?

Q: I would like to connect my turntable to my computer so that I can put the music from vinyl records on the hard drive and then transfer them to disc. Is that possible?

It is possible. I do this all the time to record DJ mixes from my vinyl. There are various ways to do this.

First would be an ion USB turntable. they usually cost around $50.

If you already own a turntable you can always hook it up from a receiver. If you have a receiver that you can hook the turntable up too, a lot of times it has stereo output and you cane use a cable to hook up to your input on your PC.
The cable you might need is similar to this which you can order online or grab at your local radio shack/ electronics store.

You will then need to get some form of recording software.
There is alot of software out there. a free one that is widely used is here. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/
